About This Spot

Bankers Hill greets you with a warm, easygoing vibe that’s a welcome breath of fresh air inside the bustling terminal. It’s the sort of spot where you can take a moment to unwind before or after your flight, leaning into a slower pace amid the sometimes hectic airport rhythm. The hum of conversations blends effortlessly with the quiet clink of glasses, creating an atmosphere that feels open and inviting rather than rushed or transient.

Despite its convenient location, Bankers Hill carries the spirit of a familiar neighborhood bar & grill more than an airport eatery. Friendly bartenders and attentive servers lend a personal touch that instantly softens the travel day weariness. Whether grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a relaxed meal, you’ll find thoughtfully crafted dishes that go beyond typical airport fare — from the earthy richness of a truffle-laced breakfast sandwich to the satisfying crunch of perfectly seasoned carnitas nachos. The kitchen strikes a steady balance, offering familiar comfort with subtle culinary flourishes that reward repeat visits.

The menu’s approachable selection—paired with a modest but well-curated range of local craft beers and classic cocktails—makes it easy to find something that feels just right. The vibe is casual yet confident, making Bankers Hill a genuine pit stop where people linger a little longer, sharing small moments before flights take off or after journeys land.

If the airport can be a place of hurried hellos and goodbyes, Bankers Hill stands out as a modest sanctuary where warmth and care carve out space for connection amid the transience. It’s that rare kind of local find you’re glad to stumble upon while passing through, inviting you to breathe, savor, and simply be.

We are in our 60’s and both my husband and I agree the two bartenders here today (5/10/25) at 4:50pm are the nicest bartenders we have ever encountered at an airport ever. The food was fantastic, service was amazing and friendly, and the place was busy but clean. Not one thing bad to say. Five starts would be more if I had an option.

Delicious carnitas nachos. Good size, big enough to last the long flight from SD to FL. I buy food from here everyone I fly out of SD.

the truffle egg breakfast sandwich is BOMB. this is REAL food, not your typical airport food… order a side of chipotle aioli for the potatoes. service was also 5 stars, very attentive and quick despite how busy they were.

Terminal 1 is crowded and limited places to grab food but Banker Hill is great for grabbing a sandwich that is already prepared.. just grab and go. I had the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and chased it down with a California Honey Blonde Ale. Instead of waiting for a beer around the corner at the bar, stop here for little to no wait for local IPA, Lager, and Ale beers plus they have vodka and other alcoholic drinks available.....awesome....skip the lines!

Not bad for one of the only spots to grab a drink near my gate. Had lots of people on a busy Sunday night but there was a GSW playoff game happening drawing a crowd. Decent beer selection, food is limited but their options cover the bases. I got some chicken tacos and the crispy cheese was on point.

This jammed packed place near gates 7 and 8 with breakfast til 1030 am including a unique truffle egg sandwich. Lunch and dinner offers 9 interesting options like chicken and Brie sandwich with tarragon aioli. Yummy. They offer several wine, craft beer and some mixed drink options. They have 3 large screen TVs with sporting events. Seating and order is at bar height and standing at bar height. Sitting options are osssenger waiting area seats Accessible mens and women's restrooms in central area either dedicated stalls and grab bars Accessible Accessible paid airport parking

This is a classy little spot offering breakfast (until 10:30), lunch and dinner (after 10:30). The Avocado Toast is offered all day, and is absolutely delicious. The lemon aioli and caper berries are a refreshing twist to the classic toast and add a wonderful tang. The cilantro, chilies and cotija cheese compliment the smashed avocado, making it closer to a guacamole spread. Fantastic. The bread was nice and crunchy, the helping generous, and the side Arugula salad crisp and flavorful. If you're a fan of avocado toast, this dish is a must try.
